In a survey of Members of Parliament conducted in 2007 by Maclean's magazine, New Democrats took top honours, winning four of the six categories.
The honoured New Democrats were as follows:

• Bill Blaikie, Elmwood - Transcona (Manitoba): "Parliamentarian of the Year"
• Peter Stoffer, Sackville - Eastern Shore (Nova Scotia): "Most Collegial"
• Joe Comartin, Windsor - Tecumseh (Ontario): "Most Knowledgeable"
• Charlie Angus, Timmins - James Bay (Ontario): "Best Constituent Representative"
