A Message from Don Davies to all Vancouver Kingsway New Democrats
Dear Friends,
On Sunday, March 18th, you will choose a candidate to represent
the NDP in Vancouver Kingsway in the next federal election.
This is an important decision and the stakes are high - Vancouver
Kingsway is winnable for the NDP.
I believe it is critical to restore respect for the democratic
process that has been so badly treated by David Emerson, and the Liberal and Conservative parties.
It is vital we send a clear message to our politicians that we will
not tolerate our votes being ignored.
And we must put a strong and progressive voice in Parliament
who will fight for policies that are so needed by the people of this Riding.
I have spoken to hundreds of New Democrats across the Riding
during this nomination campaign. They say their candidate must:
live in Vancouver Kingsway;
draw support from all sections of the Party - left, right, and centre;
appeal to a broad cross-section of voters;
understand the concerns and aspirations of the working families in our community;
have a strong knowledge of federal issues;
be articulate and persuasive, delivering our message clearly, responsibly and forcefully;
work well with others, building understanding and seeking consensus to accomplish real results;
act with integrity, honesty and compassion;
be willing and able to wage an inclusive, modern, well-funded, exciting grassroots-based campaign
that will produce an NDP victory in the upcoming federal election
