Fighting for Fairness for Hotel Workers

I was proud to join the women and men on strike at the Pacific Gateway Hotel yesterday.
Management just fired approximately 100 long-service employees and is trying to break their union.
Most of these employees are women and racialized.
It is appalling to see large corporations using a global pandemic to launch an assault on workers who have provided decades of loyal service.
I was also shocked to learn that the federal government is using this hotel for quarantine while its management is assaulting the rights of so many workers and women.
That is not the action of a government who is truly “feminist”, or committed to labour rights and the working class.
I urge everyone to stop by the picket lines, drop off some food, funds or beverages, and show your support for decent jobs and fair treatment for all workers.

NDP Day of Action: Celebrating Dental Care and Pharmacare Wins!

We had a fantastic turnout for the nationwide NDP Day of Action here in Vancouver Kingsway on Saturday, April 6 at the corner of Knight St and 49th Ave.

Joining us for the rally and door knocking was Vancouver South NDP candidate Manoj Bhangu!

Plenty of support for dental care and Pharmacare in the community and its clear that people agree we need to send more NDP MPs like Manoj to Ottawa to accomplish even more for Canadians.

A big thank you to all of our fantastic volunteers!
