122 years ago, Filipino patriots bravely declared their freedom from foreign control.
After many years of struggle, the Philippines is now a strong, vibrant democracy.
I was proud to stand in the House of Commons two years ago to vote unanimously with my colleagues to declare June Filipino Heritage Month. So today we celebrate a proud day and a proud month.
I’d like to thank all Filipino-Canadians for your many contributions to Canada.

Don has championed a universal National School Nutrition Program so every child in Canada has access to healthy meals at school. Now, with $1 billion committed over five years, we've taken a step forward - but there's more to do.
