NDP announces new critic portfolios ahead of next election

OTTAWA – On Friday, Canada’s NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh has announced new critic portfolios for his NDP caucus. New Democrats will continue fighting for Canadians as food prices, affordable housing and health care concerns as the party prepares for the next federal election.

NDP MP Peter Julian (New Westminster—Burnaby) takes over as critic for health, while Don Davies (Vancouver Kingsway) will step into the role of critic for finance.

Record-breaking attendance at PICS job fair in Vancouver

The Mega Job Fair, recognized for bridging gaps between employers and potential employees, set a new precedent in fostering community and economic development within the region.

Don Davies, MP for Vancouver-Kingsway, praised the event, highlighting PICS’s instrumental role in community enrichment. “PICS has once again demonstrated its commitment to economic and community growth by successfully connecting aspiring individuals with potential employers,” Davies said, underlining the societal impact of such initiatives.

Canada’s pharmacare bill has officially been introduced in Parliament

“This is a historic day for Canadians,” said NDP health critic and lead on pharmacare negotiations Don Davies Thursday morning.

“This is the culmination of a dream that began when Tommy Douglass invented health care in Saskatchewan in the 1940s. It’s the culmination of decades of  hard work by New Democrats, progressive Canadians and allied organizations.”
