    Research Investment in Coronavirus

Effective today, the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) is launching an accelerated research response to contribute to global efforts to contain the 2019 Novel Coronavirus outbreak. CIHR has made $6.5M available to mobilize Canada’s health researchers to join the international fight against the coronavirus.

This funding will improve our understanding of how the virus has spread to humans, and promote the development and evaluation of diagnostic tools and vaccines.
